What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Multi-Factor Authentication (or MFA) is a security tool that uses an email, or SMS to add a second layer of protection to your account.
We have implemented MFA across all of our applications to make sure our customers' data is safer and more secure.
How to Use MFA with RideCo
When you register for a RideCo-powered program, or when you sign in for the first time after updating the app, you may be shown a drop-down menu on the screen. You can select from Email, or SMS.
Select Email or SMS from the drop-down.
Email:
SMS:
Upon pressing the button to "Send a One-time code," the message (Email or SMS) will be sent with a code attached, as shown above. If email was selected, you will receive the code via email. If SMS is selected, you will receive a new message on the phone number connected to your account.
Enter the code and press "Enable."
Recovery Codes
You will be presented with a set of recovery codes. Make sure to store these in a safe location; these codes can be used if you are unable to get one from your authenticator.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your local transit provider via the 'Contact Us' button in the app or by using the contact information on their website.
