How to Update your Payment Method

This article details how to choose and update your payment method in the RideCo app, and how to delete a credit card from your Profile.

Choosing a Payment Method

After you have selected your ride (see booking a ride) and clicked 'Pay', you will be prompted to choose your payment method. Click on the desired payment method in the list. 

You may also select your payment method before clicking 'Pay'. To change the payment method, select 'Change' or 'Add Credit Card'.

If you're changing your current payment method, select from the list of options (these options may vary):

Your selected payment method will be displayed on the Booking Details page and used when you click 'Book Now' or 'Pay'.

Adding a Credit Card

Adding a credit card can be done using similar steps as above. This can only be done on the Booking Details screen of the passenger app.

Step 1: Begin the process of booking a ride and complete the necessary steps to get to the payment screen.

Step 2: Under payment method, select 'Add credit card', enter the required details, and click 'Add'

The credit card will now be displayed on the booking page and used when you click 'Pay'.

Payment method not accepted

If a credit card or debit card is not being accepted it may be a result of the following reasons:

  • Credit card not being accepted
    • If you are having issues entering your credit card information please make sure that you have entered the correct postal/zip code that your card is registered with for security reasons.  If an incorrect postal/zip code is entered you will not be able to add the card as a preferred payment method. Please note: this security feature may not apply to all programs. If you are receiving multiple errors, please wait 3 hours before attempting to add the credit card again. 
  • Pre-paid Credit Cards
    • Although we do accept prepaid credit cards; most pre-paid credit cards are not capable of being saved for recurring payments, which is a limitation set by the pre-paid card provider. If you are experiencing a problem trying to use a pre-paid credit card to book your ride please contact your financial institution to discuss what limitations may be placed on the card.

How to Remove a Credit Card

Credit Cards can be removed from the RideCo app on the Profile page by following the steps below:

  • On the main menu of the app, click on 'My Profile'.

  • Click on 'Payment Methods'

  • To remove your credit card, select the 'X' next to the card you'd like to remove:

  • Your credit card has now been removed!
